Demo Walkthrough

The Sucker for Love: Crush Landing demo went live on Steam on February 12, 2026 (app 4371660) and became the public lab for the third game. It is still worth playing, and it is still worth documenting, because the full release on August 31, 2026 keeps the same crash, the same hand choice, and the same color board. This page spoils demo ending names. If you want a clean full-game romance, use the full walkthrough instead.

The embedded video is Blonke’s no-commentary demo compilation: Neutral End Host, Neutral End Got Off Easy, Neutral End Blackout, and the True Ending (demo ending).

What the demo contains

  • Host intro, walk home, meteorite crash.
  • Phone call and a roughly ten-minute real-time wait.
  • Hand versus “something else.”
  • Hheily’s first human form and the collapse back to stone.
  • Color feeding with grapes, gifts, plant, crawfish, and Flora.
  • Door scams and helpful knocks.
  • Multiple named closes plus a secret that players tied to a Sleeper chapter unlock.

Akabaka patched the Next Fest build with extra subtitle languages, volume sliders, and Tab to hide text. Those demo extras are not a promise about the paid language table. See the review and release notes.

Demo ending routes (high level)

Neutral — Host. Play along as the professional greeter. Keep things social, keep the flame from being a priority, and the close treats you like what you were before the rock: a host. Blonke’s video starts here.

Neutral — Got Off Easy. A lighter fail. You did not commit, you did not fully starve her, and the universe lets you walk away cheaper than you deserve. Often the result of cautious under-feeding plus refusing the date’s real cost.

Neutral — Blackout. The glow dies. Colors leave. This is the starve/snuff corridor. If your flame bar hit zero on purpose or by panic, you are here.

Worth It. Series veterans know this name from First Date’s shower peek. In Crush Landing discussions it shows up among demo neutrals (players listed two grey neutrals, Worth It, and Host). Treat it as a curiosity/joke close, not as the smooch. The “something else” touch is the other joke people expect an achievement for.

True ending (demo). Keep the flame alive, respect unique colors, take Flora’s help, and see the chapter through instead of extinguishing her. Blonke timestamps this after the neutrals. Hanna M’s six-endings-and-secret video is the other recording to compare if a flag does not pop.

Bad / ash. “Something else” on the first touch. Body gone. No Hheily date.

Secret / Sleeper. Steam users described a secret that counted toward unlocking a Sleeper chapter. Launch threads also say a potential secret ending may be bugged in the paid build. Do not eat your only file chasing it. Log it on the ending checklist and wait for updates if the flag does not stick.

How to farm demo ends without losing your mind

  1. Save before the touch.
  2. Branch ash versus hand.
  3. On the hand file, save before the first unique color.
  4. Duplicate that file for starve, overfeed, and keep-alive.
  5. Watch the embedded video when a name does not match your close.

The puzzle walkthrough explains why overfeed and starve look like puzzles even when they are just fails.

What to carry into the full game

Carry the habits, not the save file. Start a new campaign on app 3848900. Keep:

  • Hand first.
  • Color census before feeding.
  • Flora yes, scammer no.
  • Vocabulary for Hheily.
  • Extra saves.

Do not carry:

  • The assumption that six demo names are the whole paid list.
  • Demo subtitle language as a guarantee.
  • A belief that the darkness fight ended when the demo did. Official copy still promises uninvited guests and something from beyond her trail.

When you are done touring fails, go back to how to romance Hheily and play the paid game like you want the smooch. The demo exists so you can get Host and Blackout out of your system.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is the Crush Landing demo still available?

Yes, as a separate Steam demo app. The paid game is app 3848900. Start a new file there after you are done experimenting.

How many endings does the demo have?

Recordings show at least Host, Got Off Easy, Blackout, a true demo end, plus joke/secret branches. Hanna M’s video labels six and a secret.

Does the demo true ending finish the full game?

No. It finishes the demo chapter. Continue in the full walkthrough.

Should I hunt the Sleeper secret in the demo or the full game?

Try the demo first so you do not brick a campaign file. Then check all endings for launch-week secret bugs.
